For our client Siemens Energy, a leading global player in the energy sector, we are now looking for a Mechanical Designer for an assignment at their site in Finspång. Thanks to high-tech and innovative product development, the company is an established partner in the energy sector, delivering advanced and sustainable solutions for the current and future needs of the market. Through this assignment, you will have the opportunity to work in an international and forward-thinking environment with many development opportunities. This is initially a consulting assignment for 12 months via Unik Resurs, with a very good possibility of extension. We apply continuous selection, which means that the assignment may be filled before the application deadline.

Responsibilities and Duties

At Turbine Design, we are responsible for some of the most advanced components in the gas turbine – from precision-cast parts such as cooled turbine blades, guide vanes, and heat shields to forged turbine discs. We develop and manage the heart of the turbine in our core engines, combining high technology with innovative design to meet very high demands for performance, quality, and sustainability. We are now looking for a designer who wants to work closely with both production and service in a technically challenging and varied role.

About the Role

In the role of designer with us, you will coordinate and drive cases related to production and error reports. With support from other groups within turbine R&D, such as cooling and strength engineers, you will be responsible for:

• Investigating and responding to deviations on turbine components reported from internal and external production
• Working on error cases coming in from the service operation
• Producing root cause analyses
• Developing concepts and detail designing new or improved solutions
• Conducting technical reviews according to our PDP process
• Updating standard and design documentation

The role involves many contact points and close collaboration with both production, service, and development.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in mechanical design
• Good knowledge of CAD
• Experience with detail drawings
• A driven and structured working style
• Good collaboration skills
• Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English

You have worked for a few years as a designer but do not need to be senior. To succeed in the role, we see that you are curious, forward-thinking, and communicative. You enjoy having dialogue with both production and service, dare to ask questions, and take responsibility for driving cases forward.
